Ben our border collie.

Ben our Border Collie, is very special to both Kevin and I. When we first got Ben he was unsocialised and very untrusting and scared of us. During the five and bit years We have had him We have been privileged to watch a animal learn to trust and maybe even love.

He is such a bouncy friendly dog that always manages to make you smile even when your having a bad day. He is very sensitive and has been known to protect me on the bad days when pain makes me pass out. Lol I often come round to a big hairy collie licking my face and laying on top of me lol it's so disgusting getting your face licked but I really do think he's saying wake up mum. When I come round and speak to him I get the biggest welcome like I left home for a week lol

The six words Ben hates most in the world is ..'You stay like a good boy' he hates being left alone and will often give you what I call the sad Sam look ( showing my age there lol) I just have to quickly leave the house as he has a uncanny way of making me feel guilty . Isn't it funny how animals communicate with their eyes as you can see from Ben's pictures above he has a beautiful expressive face.  I swear Ben shows us sadness and concern and fear at times just by the expression on his face.

Speaking about fear we do have issues with Ben he is very scared of thunder, heavy rain , fireworks etc. At fearful times it can be a nightmare and is difficult for one person to handle Ben he just resorts back to a primitive instinct and tries to dig his way into corners. You can not ignore his behaviour as he will wreak the house and or hurt himself.

He is highly trained and when we first got him he wanted to herd and chase everything very difficult to break but with firm loving guidance we broke the instint to chase wheeled children , cars and bikes etc as a trade off to allow him to keep his instinct a little we allow him to herd our dust bins he takes the wheelie bins in and out every week and has even been known to help drag neighbours bins in.

Everyone that loves animals and that meets Ben can't help fallen for his charm, he is a sweetheart and gives the best cuddles ever. I have him trained to ' craft cuddle time' some afternoons if I'm feeling under the weather I can call out craft cuddle time and no matter what he is getting up to he is quick to run to me for our cuddle in hour.

When he's not on cuddle duty or bin duty Ben will be found sitting on the stairs. We have a window he can see out off so his favourite position is the fourth step in our hall watching the world go by the smart pup has even worked out if he looks in the mirror facing the window that he will see further down the street. He drives me mad some days as every passing dog needs a bark.

Well I'm not sure what else I can tell you about Ben our furry pal but I do hope you've enjoyed reading my blog and hearing about Ben our border collie.

I have been busy being creative but as the work I've been working on lately is all samples I have not been able to share any with you yet. I do hope you will visit my blog again.
Best wishes and cuddles from Ben and I. Xxx
